Problematic behaviour in students and the cooperation between school psychologists and teachers

This paper examines specific aspects of the cooperation between school psychologists and teachers when they are trying to prevent and eliminate problematic behaviour in students at Slovak primary and secondary schools. The aim of the study was to make a quantitative and qualitative examination of how teachers and psychologists assess the causes of students' problematic behaviour. Further, emotional responses, coping strategies, and also the quality and efficiency of the cooperation between school psychologists and teachers were investigated. Results suggest that psychologists are more critical when evaluating the cooperation and also that age and years of practice have an effect on teachers' and psychologists' opinions.
