Vývin schopností klasifikácie vtákov u žiakov základných škôl

Previous research indicates that especially younger children have problems with the classification of animals. Children seem to attend primarily to two criteria for animal classification: habitat and manner of locomotion. We tested whether the locomotion criterion would affect children's classification of birds with atypical features and other animals that bear some bird-like features but are not genetically related to birds. We found that children of all ages had serious problems with animal classification and that their success or failure was correlated to what species the animal belonged to.
