Illustration function in educational process

Charakteristics of basic didactic functions of textbooks illustrations (Mikk, 1995).The brief overview of relevant experimental inquiries from the viewpoint of the efficiency of visual instruments (with special interest in the analysis of picture-text relation). The outline of contemporary marketing appointments of illustrations, which are formed by social, economic and cultural functions and the other needs of our community.
