Informal Education - Animation, or Social Work?

The work briefly summarizes the objectives and current results of the project focused on mapping the terminology of leisure education. In the next part of the work one of the investigated concepts - informal education - is presented in more detail. It shows the difference between informal learning and informal education and then the concept of informal education is introduced in the way developed in UK. In conclusion, the connection of informal education and animation is suggested.

Participation - the Best Way of Education for Democracy

The article covers the participation of children and young people from a pedagogy point of view. Apart from clarification of basic terms it clarifies philosophical reasons of the participation in a context of dynamic social changes and leads into the presentation of the participation forms, whose realization will enable the next generation to adopt the principle of participation as a part of the social and political culture.

Reflection of the Global Development Education from the Perspective of Social Pedagogy

The article results from the diploma thesis of the same title. It introduces the idea of development education and discusses possible relation between development education and social pedagogy. It shows the need for specifying the definition of development education. The article also describes how the changes of society in the era of globalization are reflected by social pedagogy. It highlights the importance of value orientated education and culture pedagogy today.

Educational Tendencies in Parents Toward a Child with Disability in Early Age in the Context of Care in the Field of Helping Professions

The results of a qualitative research focused on educational tendencies of parents with children with disability, which were provided by early professional help, are presented in this article. The research data were collected by observation and interview and then analyzed by qualitative methodology.

The Production of a Tool for Evaluation of Pre-school Aged Children in the Area of Communicative Competences

In the paper the author describes the construction of a diagnostic tool for evaluation of the development of pre-school aged children's communicative competences in compliance with the pre-school curriculum. She refers to a possible attitude in creating of tools of educational diagnostic and their aplication into the praxis of nursery school. At the beginning of the paper the author deals with the definition of terms which she uses.

Children in Preschool Age and Their Physical Regime

The state of health of the contemporary generation of children and youth is the subject of many analyses. The main objective of this part of the research was to map and evaluate physical activity in preschool children and to compare its level in chosen parts of day and week. The research sample was 200 preschool children (96 girls, 104 boys), average age of 5.71 years, from kindergartens in the Czech Republic. The objective of this study was to find out attitudes toward and the qualitative level of knowledge of earthquake and seismic activity in Slovakia in pupils of the 8th and 9th grades. We were interested in whether the attitudes and knowledge in pupils residing near the source area of Dobrá Voda differ from the knowledge and attitudes in pupils living outside the seismic source area. The first part of the research focused on quality and delivery of education in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in basic schools was aimed at mapping the conditions of teaching.
