Experiential Learning - Czech Translation and Its Meanings?

This paper focuses on the terminological clarification of the so called Experiential Learning Cycle in Czech. It proceeds from distinction of ways of translations of the term experience to Czech to proposal of using of the selected term in the context of the foregoing model. To achieve this goal and decide, we use studies and other sources dedicated to usage of the ways of translation.
Activation of social stereotypes and performance in an exam test

It was found that priming, which activated a stereotype of a professor, could lead to improvement in a knowledge task (Dijksterhuis, van Knippenberg, 1998). Two experiments were conducted in a real situation. In Experiment 1 undergraduate students were asked to complete a mid-term test. Prior to knowledge testing they were primed with stereotypes of an university professor or a charwoman. The results revealed that students, who were primed with the stereotype of the university professor performed slightly better than students, who were primed with the stereotype of charwoman. Burnout and subjective well-being of teachers

This article focuses on the issues of causes and consequences of teacher stress. Summarized are the findings of several research studies designed to detect sources of teacher stress and burnout. Attention is paid to the impact of burnout on subjective well-being, as well as variables that moderated the impact of job stressors and burnout on subjective well-being of teachers. These variables include coping strategies, social support and personality variables such as self-efficacy, self-esteem, locus of control.

Teachers' Workload and Stress (Overview Study)

The study presents a definition of stress and workload, and relates this issue to the teaching profession. On one side, it deals with components of the workload that results from the execution of their profession, on the other side it briefly offers the theoretical paradigm of the psychological part of this load. Furthermore, the study offers a selection of domestic and several foreign researches on this topic. The questions of teachers' coping with load and stress and its impact on personality and health of educators is mentioned only marginally.
