This article describes representation of Slovak lessons in some selected schoolbooks for 8. and 9. class of Czech elementary schools. It's focused on the schoolbooks of JINAN, PRODOS and ALTER publishers.

Problems of teaching poetry at the elementary schools

The paper deals with the problems of teaching poetry at the elementary and secondary schools. The results of investigative research, made among 114 students at the grammar school, show that at the first place there is a need of improving mutual communication between teacher and student in the literature classes. At the interpretation of poetry we must come out from the theory of response aesthetics by which we can´t define the only possible meaning of artistic literary work.

Using OCR technology in pedagogical sciences

This article describes OCR technology of digital conversion of paper text into electronic form, narrates a brief historical development of this know-how, compares accessible OCR software. The article also implies possibilities of using this technology in humanistic and exact pedagogical sciences.

This article deals with the problematic of educational objectives achieving. Teacher's work autoevaluation represents one possible way of evaluation in the area of achieving general objectives as well as specific aims during instruction. The explanation of the term general competencies is further presented, as pupils should acquire these key competencies during elementary education. The support of pupils' self-reflection, e.g. within foreign language lessons, can significantly help in the development of their competencies.

The standards of evaluation of the elektrotechnical and the electronic brick-box

The article contains my evaluation of a selected technical textbook for basic school level pupils called Practical activities. The textbook is here analysed from two points of view, the first being the evaluation of the text difficulties and the second being the didactic value of the book. On the basic of the analysis results it can be concluded that the text difficulty is relevant to pupils from 6th to 9th grades with the most appropriate relevancy being to 7th grade pupils, and that the didactic value of the textbook is rather poor.

The article gives a brief overview about the structure of special education and the related services in the USA. The whole system is divided into several cathegories. General information about the basic laws affecting the individiuals with disabilities is also presented.The last part of the article is dedicated to the position of learning disabilities within the system of special education in the USA. It shows the various possibilities offered to the individuals diagnosed with a learning disability.

The condition of a cardiovascular system and its reaction to the standardized stress in relation to BMI of children at age of 7 to 15 years in the Olomouc region

We have set neutral values of blood pressure and heart frequency of children at the age of 7 to 15 years in particular age categories and in relation to the BMI. We have also evaluated the reaction of the cardiovascular system to the standard stress of the examined children. We have come to the conclusion that the cardiovascular system of the observed children in neutral conditions is in the range of physiological norms set for particular age and sex. Only in isolated cases we have noted higher or pathological values of blood pressure and heart frequency especially of the children ranging from overweight to obesity.
