Multimedia and multimedia technologies find nowadays large possibilities of applications. The paper describes basic classification of multimedia technologies, multimedia services and multimedia components that are nowadays used. Education of multimedia and multimedia technologies is a part of educational module in education of informatics' teachers on Department of Education on Tomas Bata University in Zlín. It is a specifical technical subject in a big spectrum of pedagogical problems in this area.

EVALUATION OF THE TEXT DIFFICULTIES OF BIOLOGY TEXTBOOKS FOR THE SIXTH TO NINTH YEAR OF THE PRIMARY EDUCATION BY TWO METHODS

This article contains knowledge about evaluation of the text difficulties of 22 actual Czech biology textbooks for the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth year of the primary education. Evaluation methods were realized according to NESTLER - PRŮCHA - PLUSKAL and according to PRŮCHA. Obtined results of text difficulties slowly increased from 29,65 points and 30,12 points to 34,31 points and 35,10 points. Lower variability was achieved by method NESTLER - PRŮCHA - PLUSKAL. It shows that this method is more suitable for the evaluation of biology textbook difficulties.

The use of electronic sources to improve education.The author deals with some possibilities of using electronic sources in the process of in-school and out-school education aiming at its improvement. He describes contemporary possibilities starting from the use of electronic text to implementation of multimedia and electronic discussion in education. Psychological barriers that accompany implementation of modern methods are also mentioned. The author focuses on strengthening the role of a pupil in pedagogical process and on his/her active involvement.
