Recently competency plays very important role in the theory of in-service training of the school leaders as well as in the practice of the schools. In the article the concept of competency is defined and the approaches to the classification of the competencies are described. The simple classification is designed. Each competence is specified with the clusters of skills that headteachers have at their disposal.

This article contains knowledge about evaluation of the text difficulties of 22 actual Czech biology textbooks for the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth year of the primary education. Evaluation methods were realized according to PRŮCHA. Obtained results of text difficultes slowly increased from 29,65 points (textbooks for the sixth yeaer of the primary education) to 34,31 points (textbooks for the ninth year of the primary education). Textbooks of SCIENTIA publishing company and SPN publishing company achieved the lowest text difficulties

The contribution is focused on the problem of application and selection of the educational software at elementary schools. It deals especially with the software of mathematics from the firm MATIK. It tries to describe main principles of working and depict the extent of the subject, which they are practising. The article also characterizes some products of the firm MATIK.

The exploitation of the methods of critical thinking according to the EUR model in the teacher training course showed: the explained approach helps to change the educational climate, it helps the students to develop their self-study skills, it further develops the idea of new educational policy in classes, it brings the notion of the new role of the teacher in the pupil´s development.

When we implement e-learning in studies, not only technologies, but especially pedagogical and psychological values have to be taken into consideration. That is the only way we can assure the quality of education. The paper reflects prospects and limits of using e-learning in technical teacher education.
Option of use of the educational software at work with children who suffer from the specific learning disabilities

The contribution is focused on the general problems of the specific learning disabilities, on the sense of theirs re-education and on the option of use of the special educational software, which is meant for children at elementary schools who suffer from the specific learning disabilities. It describes the basic classification of this specialized software. It presents what do the constituent types of programs practise. It chooses to each category a few programs together with the addresses, where are the additional information and possibly demos at disposal.

Applied education in frame of disciplines veterinary biochemistry and food chemistry is integral part of study in curriculum of Faculty of Veterinary Hygiene and Ecology at University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno. Students acquire knowledge und acquirements during both applied aducation in the course of master or doctor study. Acquired knowledge and laboratory experience from these disciplines are used during the next study because disciplines have interdisciplinary character.
