Phenomenology in social pathology
- prof. PhDr. Peter Ondrejkovič, DrSc., Ústav pedagogiky a sociálních studií, Pedagogická fakulta Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci, Žižkovo nám. 5, 771 40 Olomouc, E-mail: pondrejkovic37@gmail.com
The efforts to declare phenomenology a description of undesirable phenomena in the society are in conflict with the pursuit of critical and in-depth examination of the value and importance of scientific knowledge. A researcher seeks to understand the studied phenomenon and usually reveals less known, comprehensive planes of life experience. Description undoubtedly has its value in science. Mere description, however, is in sharp contrast to phenomenology. Nowadays, there are many ways the phenomenological research may take; for instance the Cartesian way, ontological way and descriptive intentional psychology.
