A requirement of sociology of education is to emphasise a macro-sociological view. New challenges are presented by political, demographic and cultural processes and changes in the state of the family, as well as by discussions on its concept. Society has a number of anomic features. Some militant forms of genderism and the effects of sexual minorities have a significant impact. Problems related to foreigners are exacerbated by potentially high immigration numbers of members of culturally distinct ethnicities. It is therefore a problem of upbringing to reject xenophobia and to form an appropriate attitude towards 'strangers'. That means respecting culturally acceptable patterns of behaviour, integration, accommodation, assimilation, preventing the formation of 'pockets of poverty' or ethnic ghettos. This raises the question of education for patriotism, but also the related problem of a strong knowledge of European and national history in children and youth. The issue of media influence, including the influence of NIT, is also significant.

Keywords: Key words: Macrosocial view of problems of education. Genderism, sexual minorities and family problems. Anomic state of society. Reflection of migration, multicultural education. Xenophobia, tolerance, forms of coexistence with minorities. Education for patriotism.
