Household Care in Czech Family

The paper introduces the ongoing pilot research, which focuses on gender roles in conditions of Czech family, particularly in the Olomouc Region. The aim is to map the particularly portion of men's and women's household care. The paper deals with the aims of the research, methods used in the research and the results of the pilot study.
Significance of Complementary Therapies in Habilitation of Children Affected by Brain Disorders

In our study we follow the specific impact of supportive options (complementary therapies) in habilitation of children affected by brain disorders. Social habilitation as a component of a comprehensive habilitation significantly contributes to a poorly developed or undeveloped features of children with brain disorders. This process is long, but when there is the right motivation clients integration into the society becomes a reality. In our study we support four types of therapies: Ergotherapy, Artetherapy, Musicotherapy and Canistherapy.
Summer Camps Providing Help for Children Suffering from Enuresis

The article deals with the problems of working with children suffering from enuresis as a part of the rehabilitation summer camp program. The author describes the implementation and fulfilment of the project by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic that has been supported at the Faculty of Health and Social Studies at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice for many years. The article aims to introduce the problems of enuresis and its psycho-social impacts on the whole family of the child and to clarify the possibilities of working with the effected children.

The article presents partial results of a research carried out as a part of a large research project GAČR 406/06/0731 - Community Systems in Re-socialisation Facilities for Adolescents. This project analyses re-socialisation and re-education facilities for adolescents. The author deals with the role of parents in the process carried out by the facility. In particular, she analyses how the parents can join the re-socialisation process.The article describes the role of parents of children placed in the above mentioned facilities and the relationship between the parents and the facility staff and the probation officers working with the family.
Role of a Social Educator as a Helping Profession in the Conditions of the Slovak Republic

Social Help for Children in the Community

In this article we document some areas of the behavioral problems of children, and present the ways to eliminate them through community social work. The transformation of a welfare state into a fragmented welfare mix in which the organization, funding and the provision of social services is carried out by a variety of different institutions (the state, self-help and volunteer groups, municipalities, families, for-profit organizations, individuals) removes the role of the key service provider from the state and the local authorities. Real and Perceived Ethnicity Relationship in Residential Care Adolescents as Source of Personal Resilience

The current concept of education is meant to lead to intercultural tolerance, but somewhat overlooked is the question of the adoption of one's own ethnicity. Nevertheless this is one of the important sources of personal resilience in face of adversity and throughout life in general. Our pilot survey of adolescents in residential care showed significant differences between the real and perceived ethnicity, depending on the ethnicity pertinence. Understanding the reasons for this is a necessary first step of education, that leads to the adoption of own ethnicity.
