The aim of this article is to present the results of research into motivational tendencies and achievement motivation of social pedagogy students. In the introduction we give an outline of the concepts of social pedagogy in chosen European countries. We also include a proposal of an innovative concept of social pedagogy curriculum. Our motivation is to search employment possibilities of a social pedagogue in the labor market in the situation of the Czech Republic; we také into consideration the independence and attractiveness requirement of this profession. The graduate profile is thus formed by a professional person, who, among other things, presents e.g. healthy lifestyle in a very attractive and persuasive manner, he or she can collaborate or create a media campaign against risk behavior, can analyze its effects, can propose further measures, etc.
