Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science, Palacký University Olomouc for Education of Children, Pupils, Students and Adults

The Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science, Palacký University Olomouc (founded in 1901) has more than 2000 plant accessions on the area of 0.56 ha. Besides the flora of the Central Europe, there are plants of Mediterranean, North American and Asian origin. The garden is primarily aimed at education of university students, but it also develops programmes for education of pupils and students of all other types of schools, participates in scientific projects and programmes for the protection of diversity of wild and cultivated plant species. In 2005 garden acted as one of the funding members of the Association of Botanical Gardens of the Czech Republic. The garden is accessible also for public, and provides the space for relax and observation of plants.
