In practice, teachers encounter the phenomenon of indiscipline on a daily basis. It is necessary for them to be able to recognize, diagnose and solve its specific manifestations. The aim of this empirical study is to describe how teachers and pupils of a specific class characterize indiscipline, or manifestations of unruly behavior in teaching, and through targeted reflections and self-reflections to achieve a verbal description of perceived indiscipline. A partial goal is to compare their views on indiscipline and its manifestations and to find common or different features. Then open a discussion between teachers and pupils about suggestions on how to effectively deal with indiscipline. The research was carried out in a qualitative design. Data were obtained from written records of participants' reflections. It was processed by coding to generate a new theory about indiscipline in a specific class. It was found that teachers and pupils need to clarify, name, think about and subsequently discuss the manifestations of indiscipline, otherwise the problem remains partially hidden from them. This comprehensible and unambiguous expression of the phenomenon of indiscipline enables an active and targeted search for a solution.
