AB  - The study presents a definition of stress and workload, and relates this issue to the teaching profession. On one side, it deals with components of the workload that results from the execution of their profession, on the other side it briefly offers the theoretical paradigm of the psychological part of this load. Furthermore, the study offers a selection of domestic and several foreign researches on this topic. The questions of teachers' coping with load and stress and its impact on personality and health of educators is mentioned only marginally.
