AB  - This paper introduces the results of a research focused on the analysis of the current situation concerning the care provided in early age and speech therapy intervention in individuals with autistic spectrum disorder. The research was carried out between April and July 2010 in the Olomouc region and abroad (Slovak Republic - Bratislava). A questionnaire, the selected research method, was distributed to speech therapists, experts (specialists in education and in special education, psychologists, psychiatrists, paediatricians and neurologists) and parents of children with autistic spectrum disorder. The article provides an introduction to the studied problem, defines the research objectives, provides an analysis of the information received via the questionnaire and offers a conclusion.
