AB The presented paper is focused on possibilities of improving the quality of special education intervention in families of people with disabilities. Special intention is given to coping strategies which are developed by parents of people with disabilities within their lifespan and under influence of diverse life circumstances. The possibilities of using the coping strategies are illustrated by examples from research in 75 mothers of persons with intellectual disabilities.
