PT - JOURNAL ARTICLE AU - Kopecký, Miroslav TI - A Comparison between Contemporary Children's Functional Development at the Age of 7 up to 15 and the Reference Standards of the Functional Development in year 1987 in the Czech Republic DP - 2003 Aug 1 TA - e-Pedagogium PG - 26--39 VI - 3 IP - 4 IS - 12137758 AB - By means of a functional test, there were 1189 children tested in the years 2001 and 2002 (615 boys and 574 girls). All of them from the Olomouc region and between 7 and 15 years old. For monitoring the blood circulation efficiency there was a load test, so called 'Ruffier's Test' used. During testing, it was shown that girls react to a standard physical load by a higher heart frequency than boys do. Thanks to the Ruffier's Test, it was found out that 54,47 per cent of the boys and 44,20 per cent of the girls are on the average of physical efficiency. 23,25 per cent of the boys and 43,20 per cent of the girls belong to the category under the average of body efficiency of circulation system. Comparing these results with the reference standards measured in the Czech Republic by means of the Ruffier's Test in 1987, we found out the ongoing/developing trend in body efficiency decrease of the lower and upper secondary-school children. The results presented here could be used as reference standards suitable for clinical or educational practice.
